Case Binding - Hardcover Books

The most common type of bookbinding for hardcover books is Case Binding, otherwise known as Hardcover Binding. It is an ideal choice when you require your books to be stylish, robust and built to last.

Case Binding is the top choice for books expected to have a long life or experience constant usage. Your books will be proudly displayed on coffee tables and bookshelves for years to come. Hardcover books have a much higher quality appearance than EVA or PUR Perfect Bound books.

Specifications

Twin Loop can Case Bind books from a minimum size 148 x 210mm (A5) and to a maximum size 308 x 308mm.

The cover for a hardcover book is just two pages - a front cover and a back cover. Twin Loop will supply the inside of the front and back cover pages (called Endpapers). If you require print on them, then you will need to supply 140gsm printed endpapers.

The cover on Case Bound books overhangs the inner pages. When manufacturing the covers, we require a 20mm bleed on all sides; this outer cover is turned onto the inner boxboard. Covers must be supplied on either 170gsm or 180gsm stock.

Turnaround & Delivery

The Case Binding process requires extra time because the robust PUR glue needs 24 hours to harden plus additional time is necessary for manufacturing the hardcovers.
