PUR Perfect Binding - Softcover Books

PUR Perfect Binding is a popular choice when your project demands an exceptionally robust book that will not fall apart, even under punishing conditions.

Twin Loop offers two Perfect Binding options - PUR Perfect Binding (Polyurethane Reactive) and EVA Perfect Binding (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), but which do you choose?

Both are great options, but the decision rests with expectations concerning the book’s durability and longevity. Although the finished product looks similar, with the result being a neatly bound softcover book, the correct choice of glue can be critical. Factors such as handling and storage are also important considerations.

Twin Loop will guide you through this decision to select the best option for your project using either PUR or EVA glue.

PUR Perfect Binding

PUR Perfect Binding is selected for longer lasting and more durable softcover books, including cookbooks, self-published books, children's books, coffee table books. In fact, any publication handled frequently and that you anticipate will stand the test of time.

PUR Perfect Binding is ideal for books with a high page count, books that are thicker than 25mm, and coated, glossy and digitally printed stocks.

Benefits

PUR glue allows you to bind with confidence materials that would have previously not been possible using standard EVA glue.

PUR-bound books can withstand extreme temperature changes in the environment without damage and therefore offers greater aging stability. It can be used with any type of ink or paper stock, allowing the widest variety of paper, and finishing options.

Books adhered with PUR adhesive are flexible, allowing them to lie much flatter without compromising the binding strength.

Specifications

Twin Loop can bind books of minimum size 148 x 210mm (A5) and maximum size 308 x 308mm and can accommodate French Folds. If your book is smaller than A5, then create an A5 book with extra bleed and we will trim it down to your required size.

Turnaround & Delivery

PUR Perfect bound books take longer to cure, with the glue needing 24 hours to harden. Rushed or urgent jobs are not recommended for this process. Additional time is required for curing and should be factored into delivery timeliness.
